So Budget Travel magazine is polling for “America’s coolest small town” on their website and have narrowed it down to ten and my hometown is one of them! Hammondsport, in the Finger Lakes region of New York state, apparently only has 725 full-time residents. (I believe it, it’s a teeny tiny little town). It’s largely a tourist destination due to the fact that it’s settled on Keuka Lake and in the middle of wine country.
I could wax poetics and probably create an entire blog about the awesome-ness of Keuka Lake. As all my friends know I love Keuka and I’ve dragged most of them upstate with me for a weekend. It’s amazing sharing such a magical place. Our friends Stacy and Derrick came to the lake with us this past summer and one of them said (I think it was Stacy) something like “you’ve talked about the lake and I’ve seen pictures but being here and seeing it…wow.” Love!
I have no idea what Hammondsport gets if it wins “America’s best small town” other than publicity (which I have mixed emotions about) but, it’s kind of fun!

Of course I voted!!! Somebody should inform local politician/Hamdonsport extraordinary resident Richie Musso about this development!!
haha! How do you think I learned about this? Councilman Musso sent out an email
I knew you would vote for us! You’re an honorary citizen!
Yay! It really was beautiful. I was serious when I said I would go back and stay with Mark & Linda this summer. ha!
oops… Mark & Lynn. Ha. Sorry
They would LOVE to have you! So would Rich and Linda! But then again, we’d be jealous! Let’s plan something when Cody and I are back on the lake this summer too!?
